Health and Safety

Shire Electrical Ltd are committed to health and safety and have been SMAS accredited for many years now.

As a minimum we operate under our external health and safety consultants, Rawlings Safety & Training Consultancy Services LTD. RCS act as a professional safety advisor to Shire Electrical Ltd and are evidence of our commitment to achieve and maintain compliance with Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work regulations, and all other statutory health and safety legislation.

Utilising the company health and safety policies and systems, and with on going regular training, we are confident that everything possible is done to ensure health and safety of all our employees and our clients employees through our management structure.

Safety Management

Policy

Shire Electrical Ltd operate a comprehensive system to ensure all projects, large or small, are given effective and sufficient resources to both planning and management. The company has access to specialist technical support from our external health and safety consultants RCS.

Organisation

The management of the company is structured to operate under our health and safety policies. Our documented safety procedures ensure awareness of safety, is promoted by our Managers, Supervisors, employees and subcontract labour.

Planning

A planned and systematic approach is adopted towards identifying hazards and minimising risks involved on any given project. Those risks identified are addressed, as part of our risk assessments and method statements. All labour and equipment will be selected upon completion of any risk assessments carried out and all labour will read and sign such documentation so as they have a full understanding of what Shire Electrical Ltd expect.

Monitoring

All at Shire Electrical Ltd are expected to monitor health and safety around the workplace on any project. To add to that the management and supervisors carry out regular toolbox talks, and meetings with all employees and pass on these to our clients.

Training

Shire Electrical Ltd are committed to training and development of all staff. Specialist training and instructions are given to employees where needs are identified, along with regular issues of safety bulletins, in house and external training. We are working towards a fully competent safety trained workforce on all projects, along with all operatives having CSCS/ECS cards and supervisors having SSSTS qualifications.
